- Formulating and implementing new educational programmes to develop knowledge of English Language, Computing and Technological Skills of young Buddhist monks.
- Implementing a special programme for the upliftment of Piriven education.
- Facilitating higher education of Buddhist monks.
- Introducing a monthly contributory sponsorship scheme for the reimbursement of expenditure incurred in respect of education of student Buddhist monks.
- Taking steps to resolve pending issues remaining unsettled in relation to appointments and salaries and wages of principals and teachers of Pirivenas.
- Taking necessary measures to expand activities of Dhamma Schools belonging to all religions in liaison with the relevant institutions.

The vision of prosperity
The decision taken by His Excellency Gotabaya Rajapaksha, the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to institute A separate Ministry for the first time in history for enchanting Piriven and Dhamma Education and to invoke the quality of spiritual cultivation in people through that, is specific. I consider it is my predestination to be the First Minister of the State Ministry of Dhamma Schools, Pirivenas and Bhikkhu Education. My paramount expectation is to succeed perfectly the responsibility assigned to our Ministry to make reality on this earth the vision of prosperity of His Excellency the President.
I am very thankful for the co-operation rendered by the great Bhikkhus’, Secretary to the Ministry including the staff, all Piriven teachers and all related persons to making happen the multitude special responsibilities of our Ministry among many challenges. In future, Piriven and Dhamma Education will be uplifted and special plans and programs will be carried out to implement human spiritual cultivation quality of the country, and I believe that all the Officers of this Ministry, Chief Incumbent Theros, Maha Sanga, teachers and all other related parties would render their fullest co-operation to me to achieve this task.

The source of educational flow
The Piriven Educational System of this country could be considered as a source of entire education flow more than Two Thousand years of long history. The Piriven Education rose and fell from time to time and today it has reached to a turning point. To happen the said special task in presence of social, cultural, political and economic challenges today, His Excellency the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka has instituted a State Ministry for Dhamma Schools, Pirivenas and Bhikkhu Education. During the period of past eleven months, the whole staff of this Ministry guided by the Honourable Minister successfully performed the tasks collectively which have been entrusted to them to achieve special aspirations assigned to the Ministry should be highly appreciate.
